Jon Sibal has decided to digitally imagine the second generation Audi R8 GT Spyder although it’s not known at this point whether there’s going to be such a version. It’s way too early in the game to think about such a version since deliveries of the regular R8 Coupe haven’t even started so it will take some time until the R8 Spyder will be out, let alone a hardcore GT version.
Nevertheless, it’s still interesting to see how the GT treatment could be applied by Audi on its overhauled R8. If such a version will ever see the light of production day, expect a beefier body with carbon fiber elements, lowered sports suspension, larger alloy wheels and a fixed rear wing made from carbon fiber.
If a second generation Audi R8 GT Spyder is indeed in the works, chances are it won’t be out sooner than the second half of 2017 or in the first half of 2018.
