Next weekend in the ADAC GT Masters competition, racing fans will have the chance of seeing world rally champion Sebastien Ogier driving the reputable Audi R8 LMS ultra for Audi customer sport team Prosperia C. Abt Racing. He will be a guest entrant in the competition and will race along teammate Markus Winkelhock who was the FIA GT1 world champion back in 2012.
30-year-old Sebastien Ogier triumphed in last year’s WRC season and is currently on top of the standings in the 2014 season with a Volkswagen Polo R WRC. Next weekend he will be behind the wheel of an entirely different track tool, Audi R8 LMS ultra for a 60-minute race at the Lausitz race track. The aforementioned Prosperia C. Abt Racing managed podium finishes each time this season so there’s a lot of pressure on Ogier who is a rookie in this type of competition.
The Frenchman received preliminary training earlier this week from Winkelhock who showed him the cockpit as well as share a few tips necessary for next weekend’s race. The two will be driving the Audi R8 LMS ultra which since its introduction approximately five years ago has managed to secure no less than 23 worldwide title wins.
