The racing season is about to start for Audi this weekend with the 24-hour Florida race where there will be two customer teams.
Paul Miller Racing and Flying Lizard Motorsports with their Audi R8 LMS cars will be at the start line of the 53rd running of the 24 hours of Daytona, representing a classic endurance race. It serves as the inaugural race of the 2015 season in the American Tudor United SportsCar Championship (TUSC) which was formed last year by a merger between the American Le Mans Series and GRAND-AM.
The two Audi customer teams battling at the 24-hour Florida race will have to battle other 51 prototypes and GT sports cars. The Audi R8 LMS will take part in the GT Daytona class for production-based sports cars in which there will be 19 competitors and it’s considered as being the most competitive and populous at the same time.
Audi’s R8 LMS was developed specifically for the racing series organized in United States and comes with various aerodynamic upgrades such as the wider rear Daytona Prototype wing as well as new flics up front which boost top speed.
