Outgoing Audi RS4 Avant to act as police car in New South Wales

This Audi RS4 Avant has put on a police livery for the Lake Illawarra Local Area Command of the New South Wales Police Force in Australia. The current RS4 is on its way to a well-deserved retirement as a new model will come out sometime next year but the outgoing model is still a very desirable piece of machinery and it looks even more appealing in this police livery selected by fans of Audi Australia’s Facebook page.

Those of you who were hoping the police would use this car to catch speeding drivers will be disappointed to hear the high-performance premium compact wagon is going to provide support in the following 12 months for numerous community and youth engagement programs organized locally.

As far as the RS4 Avant’s successor is concerned, it will no longer be available with the naturally aspirated V8 4.2-liter engine as Audi has already announced it will adopt a downsized V6 with a 3.0-liter displacement and benefiting from e-turbo tech. If everything goes according to plan, the new RS4 will hit dealerships before the end of next year. Until then, Audi is expected to show the warm S4 variant in less than a month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
