Preliminary details are starting to surface the web regarding the next generation Audi S4. According to Car & Driver, the vehicle will come with an evolution of the supercharged V6 engine, unlike the next RS4 and RS5 models which are bound to receive a twin-turbocharged V6. While the previous S4 delivered a 333 bhp punch, the new iteration of the model will up the ante against its main rivals by providing more than 350 bhp.
Needless to say, the new Audi S4 will come as standard with a quattro all-wheel drive system receiving the engine’s power through a seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission while a decision regarding the availability of a six-speed manual will be made depending on the market demand. However, don’t hold your breath for the manual since automatic gearboxes are more and more popular and ultimately these will kill the manual in premium models.
The new Audi S4 will once again take the shape of both a sedan and a wagon, but the latter is unlikely to make it to United States. Aside from the bump in output, the warm compact model will also receive a slightly more aggressive body, larger alloy wheels, beefier brakes, silver side mirror caps along with several interior cabin tweaks to denote this is a higher specification model.
