The next generation Audi R8 has been rendered once again, ahead of an official reveal which can’t come soon enough. RM Design took his inspiration most likely from the e-tron roadster concept when working on this render for the highly anticipated new R8. We all know how Audi’s flagship supercar will end up looking, like a bigger and angrier version of the recently introduced third generation TT.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing but some fans of the model would appreciate a more differentiated styling since after all the new R8 will be a lot more expensive than the TT. Expect the model to adopt a sharper styling approach and will also carry over some design cues from the outgoing model while on the inside there will probably be a simple layout of the dashboard which will likely include the now familiar 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument cluster as seen in the aforementioned TT, as well as in the 2015 Volkswagen Passat.
The next generation Audi R8 is expected to go on a diet which will eliminate up to 100 kg of excess weight while the quattro all-wheel drive system will be available as expected. Details about the engine lineup are still a mystery but it is believed the R8 will continue with the naturally aspirated V8 5.2 and V10 5.2 engines, although there are some talks about a newly developed twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter as well as a V8 4.0 twin-turbodiesel or a larger V10 5.0 diesel.
We could see the next generation Audi R8 before this year’s end.
