Well-known “automotive manipulator” Theophilus Chin has elaborated a possible look for the next generation Audi A5 Coupe. It’s really not that hard to envision Ingolstadt’s next premium compact coupe as spy shots have already emerged onto the web and obviously the design will have a lot in common with the A4 (B9) Sedan.
Audi has decided to play it safe in terms of styling so it will be an evolution of the current A5 design rather than a brand new look as some would have expected. Overall, it will look a little bit sharper than the outgoing model and will grow a little bit in size so the side profile should turn out to be more elegant.
Even though it will be bigger, the next generation Audi A5 Coupe will go to the gym to lose some weight as adopting the MLB Evo platform will allow the car to shave off an estimated 100 kg (220 lbs). The increased proportions will result in a more spacious cabin, especially for the rear passengers and most likely the capacity of the trunk will also grow.
Chances are Audi will stage the world premiere of the new A5 in the first half of next year and will be followed shortly by the Sportback and convertible body styles and all of them are bound to receive the S and RS treatment likely earlier compared to the outgoing models.
