X-Tomi Design from Hungary has visualized a potential look for the next generation Audi A5 Coupe. As expected, the speculative render is based on the all-new A4 (B9) but obviously with a more sloped roofline and without the rear doors to enable a sleeker look for the compact premium coupe which will probably be introduced sometime next year as a 2017MY.
Taking into account the new A4 doesn’t look all that different compared to its predecessor, expect the upcoming A5 to stay very close to the old model which isn’t really a bad thing taking into account the B8-based coupe was one of the most beautiful cars in its class and now Audi’s designers have sharpened up the styling even further.
It looks very fresh to us, but we understand those who criticize Audi for coming up with new models that look very much alike and don’t bring enough styling modifications compared to the models they replace. However, that will change now that Marc Lichte is in charge of Audi’s design department as he promised there will be more differentiations between models across the lineup.
He already proved his talent with the stunning Prologue concepts while the first production car to be designed from the ground up by him will be the next generation A8 due sometime in 2017.
