An Instagram user has uploaded a photo with what appears to be the next generation Audi S4 Avant. Taken somewhere in Germany, the image depicts the hot wagon wearing a full body camouflage to hide the design which is expected to be an evolution of the current model but with sharper lines to create a sleeker appearance.
The model is bound to ride on the MLB Evo platform which will bring a significant 100 kg weight loss even though the compact wagon from Ingolstadt will be a little bit bigger than today’s model. Thanks to the increased proportions, expect the trunk capacity to increase beyond the current version’s 490-liter capacity with the rear seats up. It’s the same story once you fold them down as the new model will likely offer more than the 1,430 liters available in the outgoing generation.
The new Audi S4 Avant should keep the same 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine but the engineers will probably make some revisions to boost its output from the current 333 PS and 400 Nm. By adding more power and shaving off weight, the hot wagon will be significantly faster than the current model which needs 5.1 seconds until 100 km/ha and tops out at 250 km/h.
