A reader of Indian Autos Blog has spotted in Nürnberg, Germany a fully camouflaged prototype of the next-gen Audi A4. Despite the heavy amount of disguise, it’s fairly easy to notice the new compact executive sedan will adopt an evolutionary design, but with reshaped headlight and taillight clusters which will likely make it look a bit sharper compared to the outgoing model.
The Audi A4 B9 is likely to grow in size a little bit to distance itself from the A3 Sedan, but despite the increased dimensions we are estimating a significant weight loss thanks to the implementation of the MLB Evo architecture.
We will likely see it in the flesh at the Frankfurt Motor Show set for September this year, with sales kicking off late 2015 or at the beginning of next year. It is believed Audi will offer not one, but two e-tron models as one of the versions will have a 2.0 TDI while the other should make use of a 2.0 TFSI.
Expect a 1.4 TFSI engine to power the base version and will reportedly be offered with 125, 150 and 180 PS while a larger 2.0 TFSI should have 225 and 245 PS. There’s also going to be a 3.0 TFSI with 272 PS while the diesel range will kick off with a 1.6 TDI developing 120 PS. Up next is a 2.0 TDI with 125, 150, 177,190 and 220 PS, followed by a beefier 3.0 TDI with 218 and 260 PS.
