The life of a Footballer is nice. Especially when you’re one of the best Footballers in the world and were part of the most recent World Cup win, like many members of FC Bayern München are. Audi is an official sponsor of FC Bayern München and has decided to do something very generous to its favorite players. Audi has supplied 50 cars to players of FC Bayern and gave them free choice of which car they got. These guys have the life.

Most of the players who got cars, including Thomas Müller and Robert Lewandowski, the scorer of Tuesday night’s historic ‘five-goal game,’ chose Audi’s sportier models. The most popular model among the team was the Audi RS7 Sportback, though the second most popular was the RS6 Avant. Honestly, though, who wouldn’t pick an RS model or an R8? I’d like to meet the player, if there is one, who picked an A3 1.8t front-wheel drive.

After the players picked their cars, Audi brought them to an event for photographs, autographs for both fans and employees, but afterward the players participated in a short Audi driving experience. During their driving sting, they took Audi R8s out on a handling course and an Audi Q7 on an off-road course. After this, the players were taken out for hot laps with nine-time 24 hour of LeMans winner, Tom Kristensen and his fellow Audi race driver Markus Winkelhock.

The racing drivers were actually quite impressed with the player’s driving skills. “The afternoon with the team was real fun. That’s also been a great experience for me as a soccer fan,” Tom Kristensen said afterwards. “I was impressed by the sportiness and adeptness of the guys in handling the cars. You can immediately tell that Audi and FC Bayern are a well-practiced team.”

A day riving around in some of hottest Audis, getting lapped around a track with former LeMans winning racing driver and even getting a brand new Audi of choice sounds like quite possibly the best day ever. Where do I sign up for Football (or, err, Soccer)?

I've been in love with cars since I was a kid, specifically German cars. Now I get to drive them talk about them on the internet.
