This latest-generation of Audi RS6 Avant is the fastest generation yet. With 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, the new RS6 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 3.6 seconds, making it the fastest standard RS6 yet. However, that level of performance, which will satisfy almost any sane human, simply isn’t enough for MTM, which has tuned Audi Sport’s latest monster wagon.
Being based in Miami, MTM USA is probably excited to work on the new Audi RS6 Avant, as it’s the first one to ever be offered in the US. That enthusiasm and excitement shows, as the car isn’t on sale yet and MTM has a tune that can develop a simply absurd 787 hp from the RS6’s 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8.
Making this even more exciting is the fact that the MTM-tuned Audi RS6 Avant was Dyno-tested at 787 hp and 760 lb-ft of torque, so it’s an official figure. Even better than that, it’s only a Stage 1 tune, so MTM still has a lot of room to make even more power.
According to MTM, the Audi RS6 Avant isn’t the only upcoming performance Audi to be available with that much power. Both the Audi RS7 Sportback and RS Q8, both of which are powered by the same V8 as the RS6, have been dyno-tested with MTM’s tune and both make the same power. So every new V8-powered Audi Sport model can pack nearly 800 hp from just a Stage 1 tune. Incredible.
We’re both interested and sort of terrified to see what more MTM can do with the Audi RS6 Avant. If they can make nearly 800 hp from just a Stage 1 tune, what happens when they slap on bigger turbos, a new intake and exhaust? Can the Audi RS6 Avant break the 1,000 hp mark with those mods? It’d be very interesting (and slightly terrifying) to find out.
