The Audi Q5 is certainly not that type of vehicle you would consider to be suitable for a quick quarter mile run but nevertheless the engineers from AWE Tuning though it would be interesting to see how it performs. Needless to say, they didn’t take a stock Q5 as the tuners modified the V6 3.0-liter TFSI engine by installing a carbon cover, a bespoke filter and a stage two performance pulley kit.
In addition, the Audi Q5 by AWE Tuning benefits from a Touring Edition exhaust system and has received a stage two performance software package while the wheels and tires were left stock. There was even a child seat installed on the rear bench along with the spare tire in the trunk so the crossover wasn’t stripped out of unnecessary weight in order to be quicker on the drag stip.
Running on 93 octane pump gas, the modified Q5 completed the quarter mile in an impressive 12.502 seconds at 109.52 mph (176.25 km/h) which makes it the quickest Q5 in a straight line in the entire world. It’s actually faster than a stock SQ5 which needs an additional second to complete the run although with some fine tuning it could shave off some of that time.
