Model Year 2010: Line-up changes

2010-audi-s4-1
Model year 2010 will be a big, big year for Audi. With a well rounded line-up Audi is looking to make a full-on blitz in the U.S. market against its biggest rival: BMW. And why will this be a big year for Audi? Well, aside from new model introductions to the U.S., we’re also seeing refinement within models to keep models competitive.

Some of the bigger changes we’re seeing on this list are:

  • 2010 S4: Comes to the U.S. market with a supercharged 3.0L with both the manual and S-tronic options. Expect to see the advanced torque-vectoring system to reduce understeer on the S4.
  • 2010 A5: The biggest change to this model will be inclusion of the 2.0T engine variant to this model. Many enthusiasts will be glad to see the A5 picking up the 4-cylinder engine that the U.S. wasn’t privy to like much of the rest of the world.
  • 2010 R8 5.2L V10: The V10 finally makes its way to the R8 and it will be good! Expect both the R tronic and manual gearboxes to make it to the V10 along with full LEDs for the V10 and optional full LEDs for the 4.2L V8 model.
  • 2010 Q7:  The Q7 receives a facelift and rump lift with new taillamps and headlamps plus revised grill work. It also looses the 3.6L engine from its line-up.
  • 2010 A8L and S8: These big guys are discontinued for model year 2010 likely in anticipation of the upcoming all new A8 model.

(hit the jump for details on the full line-up changes for Audi’s U.S. models)

We here at 4RingBlog are very excited to see so many big changes within Audi’s line-up and they continue their charge up the sales ladder. We’re especially excited about the S4 debut in the U.S.!  Look for prices soon – sometime closer to this summer just before the models are released in the August/ September timeframe.
