Audi introduced today the design and technical PB18 concept car at Pebble Beach Automotive Week in Monterey, California. The PB18 is an electric supercar with three electric motors (two rear, one front) providing an output of 671 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque, with occasional overboosting that bumps the power up to 764 hp. Audi says it’ll hit 62 mph in little over 2.0 seconds.
The liquid-cooled solid-state battery has an energy capacity of 95 kWh. A full charge provides for a range of over 500 kilometers (310.7 miles) in the WLTP cycle. The Audi PB18 e-tron is already designed for charging with a voltage of 800 volts. This means the battery can be fully recharged in about 15 minutes. The Audi PB18 e-tron can also be charged cordlessly via induction with Audi Wireless Charging (AWC).
The exterior styling of the PB18 e-tron is no less striking with a Shooting Brake style, a low and wide stance and dynamically aggressive character lines. The PB18 e-tron is 4.53 meters long, 2 meters wide and just 1.15 meters tall (14.5 x 6.4 x 4.6 ft). These dimensions alone speak of a classical sports car. The wheelbase is 2.70 meters (8.9 ft) and the overhangs are compact.
Inside, you will sit front and center in a special monocoque that includes both the seat as well as the car’s controls. If you have a passenger joining you, the entire monocoque can slide laterally to provide a more traditional driver-side seating position with room for a second person. Mounted within the field of vision is a transparent OLED surface.
