Just in time for the holidays, fans of the famous Italian brand will be getting a rather interesting gift. After years of waiting, we’ll finally be seeing what the hell the upcoming Lamborghini Urus SUV will be. The folks in Sant’Agata have been pretty coy about details of the Urus since they announced its existence. So the idea that we’ll know exactly what it will be in just a few months is an exciting one.
We still don’t know what the Lamborghini Urus will look like, exactly. We have a good idea but nothing official. What we do know is that it will be built on the same MLB Evo platform that underpins the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. So it will be quite light and will likely have some of the same technology, such as the 48-volt electrical subsystem and active anti-roll bars. Lamborghini has yet tor release any official info on the Urus’ engine but we’ve heard rumors of a twin-turbo V8 with around 650 hp.
In this new teaser video for the Urus, Lamborghini shows off all of its accomplishments, such as, starting a company to take on Enzo Ferrari, starting the mid-engine supercar trend and creating design languages that would be revered and followed for decades to come. It then ends showing off a quick sketch of the Lamborghini Urus and it looks as we expected to it look. While it’s very much an SUV, it’s also very much a Lamborghini. Expect many wedges and angles and sharp, aggressive lines. There’s no doubt that Lambo wants to make the Urus just as good of a bedroom wall poster as every other one of its cars.
So we’ll see the Lamborghini Urus on December 4, just in time for the holidays. Needless to say, we’re quite excited about it.
