Following a reveal at the beginning of the month, Jon Olsson’s menacing Audi RS6 DTM is now making its video debut. In this short clip we get the chance to see the hot wagon tackling snowy roads as part of the preparations for the 2015 Gumball 3000 rally which will kick off on May 23 in Stockholm, Sweden. Jon will drive the vehicle as part of Team Betsafe.
As the car’s name indicates, this RS6 adopts a DTM-inspired body with many of the bits and pieces being manufactured from carbon fiber to shave off some of the excess weight. It’s truly a beast on wheels as the V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo is now capable of developing no less than 950 PS, significantly more than the stock RS6 Avant which has “only” 560 PS. Even more impressive is the fact that Jon Olsson says that when using race fuel the motor is capable of producing in excess of 1,000 PS. The additional oomph was obtained through various upgrades, including 18-karat gold-anodized turbochargers.
The body was developed in collaboration with ex Koenigsegg chief engineer Leif Tufvesson while in charge of building the vehicle was Stertman Motorsport and they used a wide variety of components from STM, Intrax, Movit and Milltek Sport.
