German media is speculating the new Audi S4 is going to be displayed in mid-September at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. While that might not be so surprising to hear, Audi is preparing something rather interesting as word on the street says they will ditch the supercharged V6 3.0-liter engine in favor of a 3.0-liter turbocharged motor producing 354 hp.
It will obviously get a quattro all-wheel drive system and the rear Sport Differential from the new A4 (B9) which should enable a more agile car, especially around the corners. Taking into account the outgoing S4 packs a 333 hp punch and is heavier, the new S4 will certainly provide better performances so expect the 0-100 km/h sprint to take significantly less than the 5 seconds needed by the S4 B8.
The report issued by German publication Auto Zeitung says the range-topping RS4 Avant will indeed lose the V8 4.2-liter naturally aspirated engine which is bound to be replaced by a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine generating a massive 500 hp, thus making it a full 50 hp more powerful than the old one so expect the 0-100 km/h sprint to take less than 4.5 seconds since the old RS4 Avant needed 4.7 seconds.
