Goodwood Festival of Speed to host three Audi Classics

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the most prestigious automotive events of the year. Hosted at the historic Goodwood circuit, the Festival of Speed is a celebration of the world’s most incredible cars, both old and new. At this year’s event, three Audi classics will be on hand and will show off their performance on track.

Making their appearance in Goodwood will be the Audi Rallye Quattro A2, the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA-GTO, and the Audi 200 Quattro TransAm. All three of which will be driven by famous motorsport driver’s from Audi’s history. Rally champion Stig Blomqvist will pilot the rally-winning Audi Quattro, with five-time Le Mans winner Frank Biela behind the wheel of the Audi 200 Quattro TransAm and three-time Le Mans winner Benoit Tréluyer driving the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA-GTO.

The real star of the show is Blomqvist, though. He will be driving the very car with which he used during the season he won the world driver’s championship in 1984. He didn’t use this very car the entire season but he did place second in Monte Carlo in it. So it will be a return to the car for Blomqvist and one that will be special to see in Goodwood.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed will run from July 4-7 and will feature some of the most iconic cars in automotive history. It’s obviously not just classic Audis that will be on hand. Expect to see stunning classics from all brands, especially British brands. So you’ll see some gorgeous Jaguar’s and Aston Martins. Likely some Rolls Royces too, considering RR is based in Goodwood nowadays.
