Edmunds names 2014 Audi A5 & Q7 as Best Retained Value

Edmunds.com has listed the 2014 Audi A5 and the 2014 Audi Q7 as being the Best Retained Value vehicles of 2014 in the luxury mid-size convertible and luxury large SUV categories, respectively. The award refers to the highest projected private party residual value five years after the car’s launch. Audi of America’s executive vice president and chief operating officer Mark Del Rosso declared „Audi is proud to be honored in the 2014 Edmunds.com Best Retained Value awards” and „These awards are a reflection of the quality of the A5 and Q7 models – two top-performing vehicles that have proven they can more than stand the test of time.”

In the United States, the 2014 Audi A5 carries a starting price of $39,000 and comes with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter TFSI engine delivering 220 bhp between 4,450 rpm and 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 258 lb-ft between 1,500 rpm and 4,300 rpm. It allows the coupe to cover the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 6.3 seconds before topping out at an electronically-limited 130 mph (209 km/h).

As for the 2014 Audi Q7 which also won the Best Retained Value award, this one kicks off at $47,700 and can be had with either a 3.0 TFSI or a 3.0 TDI engine. The gasoline motor delivers 280 bhp between 4,920 rpm and 6,500 rpm and 295 lb-ft between 2,150 rpm and 4,915 rpm, enough for a 0-60 mph run in 7.7 seconds and a 130 mph electronically-capped top speed. The diesel engine is rated at 240 bhp (3,500 rpm – 4,000 rpm) and 406 lb-ft (1,750 rpm – 2,250 rpm). The sprint and top speed figures are the same as for the TFSI engine.
