The Donkervoort D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition is the latest model from the Dutch specialist automaker that uses an Audi engine. At its heart is the legendary 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged TFSI gasoline motor which in this application has been tuned to deliver 400 PS (294 kW) and a maximum torque of 332 lb-ft (450 Nm).
What truly sets this special edition apart from all the other versions of the D8 GTO would have to be the visible carbon fiber treatment which according to Donkervoort not only allows the car to show off “a bit of its dark side”, but also it “accentuates the high-tech, super-fast character” of the model.
The Donkervoort D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition makes extensive use of this lightweight yet sturdy material which has been applied onto the window frames, door panels, seats, door sills and dashboard. In addition, carbon fiber was used for the ignition cylinder housing, headlight housings and even for the belt-and-roll trim.
Donkervoort has already sold the first unit earlier this week to a customer from Switzerland.
