The Donkervoort D8 GTO 1000 Miglia Edition has made its official debut and comes equipped with an Audi-sourced engine. The D8 GTO was the official support car at this year’s Mille Miglia so Donkervoort has decided to celebrate this through a special edition which isn’t as hardcore as previous iterations of the model as the manufacturer wanted to create a touring version softer and more comfortable.
Motivation comes from an Audi-derived, five-cylinder 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which has been detuned to 310 hp. Even though it comes with less carbon fiber compared to other iterations of the model, it still manages to weigh just 760 kg so it should still be properly quick. It also gets a higher driving position to make it more usable around the city streets while adjustable comfort shock have been added to enable a more relaxing ride.
The Donkervoort D8 GTO 1000 Miglia Edition also comes with satellite navigation so you don’t get lost and has received special logos and badges inside and out to denote it’s a limited-run model. Only 25 units will ever be made and each will carry a starting price of €115,000, excluding VAT. With the value added tax included, the model costs €139,150 at home in The Netherlands.
