Previously president of Audi China since 2009, Dietmar Voggenreiter, saw Audi sales rise from 82,000 to 579,000 vehicles in 2014. An incredible feat and one that gave Voggenreiter the good reputation tosit on the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Audi AG. He succeeds Luca de Meo, who has been sent to SEAT to act as the Spanish company’s CEO.
Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Audi AG, said of de Meo “In the past three years, Luca de Meo has consistently strengthened Audi’s sales position in all major regions. At the same time, he has contributed towards the successful development of Lamborghini and Ducati and pushed forward with important investments such as the expansion of the plant in Sant’Agata Bolognese. He is the voice of our Italian brands in Wolfsburg and Ingolstadt.” Under Luca de Meo, who took over the position of Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG in September 2012, sales have increased every year. In the past three years, Audi’s worldwide deliveries have grown by almost a quarter.
But now the de Meo is at SEAT, Rupert Stadler is confident that Dietmar Voggenreiter will excel in his new position on the board. “I am delighted that Dietmar Voggenreiter, an executive with broad experience within the company, is taking over the key position of Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing. With him, we will continue the successful development of the Four Rings’ worldwide unit sales.” With all of Voggenreiter’s success in China, it’s easy to see why Stadler is so confident in him. This can only mean good things for the Four-Ringed brand, as a reshuffling of executives was necessary after the massive diesel scandal that ripped through the Volkswagen Group and this group of new executives should help right the ship.
