Just recently, Marvel and Audi teamed up for an ad featuring Brie Larson, reprising her role as Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel), and the Audi e-tron. It’s a great ad that shows Danvers getting debriefed on modern technology and culture and it’s genuinely funny. But the best part is when she’s shown the e-tron SUV and takes it for a spin. CNET’s Roadshow was recently fortunate enough to sit down with Larson about the ad, the Audi e-tron itself and electric cars in general.
It’s a good interview and one that you should go read on your own, so I won’t spoil the whole thing but I’ll provide a bit of a teaser for you.
When asked if she’d yet driven the Audi e-tron, Larson admitted that she actually hadn’t yet. “I haven’t. I have not had a chance. I mean, I’ve been in the car, because I sat in the back of it. But I haven’t had a chance to drive it myself. It [the ride] was really zippy and super smooth.”
But what would make a superhero who’s also a pilot, someone who can fly either a plane or just fly on their own, want to drive around in the e-tron? “Well, the car can actually go really fast. I think that’s the key point, is if the car couldn’t go super, super fast-paced and have great pickup, then I don’t think she would be as interested in it. But it’s a great way for her to transport friends; you know, she can only carry one person at a time. So being able to drive around with a car full of people I’m sure would be an important aspect.” said Larson.
Larson has also been driving an electric car for a few years now, though she doesn’t specify which one. We’re assuming a Tesla but it’s not important. So she’s into EVs and seems to be a big proponent of them. Hopefully, she likes what Audi and its e-tron brand will deliver in the coming years.
