Audi’s UK division has released a new ad called “Speedboat” for the RS3 Sportback now on sale across Europe. Last week we saw the high-powered hot hatchback playing ice hockey in another ad and now the RS3 takes on a speedboat in a fresh promotional clip showing off the car’s all-wheel drive capabilities thanks to the standard quattro system.
It should be mentioned the Audi RS3 Sportback is currently the most powerful compact hatchback on sale, but it will be dethroned before the end of this year as Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to boost output of the A45 AMG. While the RS3 packs a mighty 367 PS punch, its rival from Daimler is expected to deliver somewhere in the region of 380 PS.
This won’t make the RS3 Sportback the lesser car taking into account it’s properly quick, needing a mere 4.3 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and topping out at 174 mph (280 km/h) if you ask Audi to raise the electronic top speed limiter from the standard 155 mph (250 km/h).
Needless to say, Ingolstadt’s hot hatch doesn’t come cheap as the starting price at home in Germany stands at €52,700 and that’s before you add any optional equipment. In return for this serious amount of money, Audi promises to give you a “world-beating car” equipped with a “class-conquering engine.”
