Audi of America has hired World Cup alpine ski racer Samuel Bode Miller to star in the “Memory” commercial featuring an S3 Sedan quattro. The ad shows an older Bode Miller being asked by his grandson about his tendency to get out of control but he responds by saying that he’s not at all times that reckless. The ad then shows him driving an Audi S3 quattro which provides “control when it matters.”
It’s a nice connection between two very different domains: skiing and cars, yet both have something very important in common: control. Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system is in charge of providing the necessary control for the S3 Sedan which in United States kicks off at $41,400 if you go for the Premium Plus trim while the Prestige version starts at $47,000.
Both of them share a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter TFSI engine delivering 292 bhp between 5,400 and 6,200 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque in the 1,900 and 5,300 rpm range sent to both axles through a six-speed, dual-clutch S tronic gearbox. The powerful hardware arrangement is enough to enable the Audi S3 Sedan quattro reach 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in only 4.7 seconds before topping out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h).
