A new report coming from Germany states Audi has plans to introduce an RS6 allroad in the near future.
It seems Audi is preparing to add yet another niche model if we were to believe Auto Bild’s report about an RS6 allroad due in the fall of 2016. The model is being created primarily for the Chinese market, but it will likely be sold globally and will essentially be a mashup of the RS6 and A6 allroad. This means it will combine the RS6’s twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine with the A6 allroad’s rugged body featuring plastic body cladding.
If the rumor turns out to be true, the RS6 allroad will be the only model of its kind in the entire world and won’t have any competitors. Chances are it will cost more than the RS6 Avant and will come with a jacked up suspension and bespoke alloy wheels. Some subtle changes to the body and interior cabin are likely on the agenda as well to differentiate it from the RS6 and A6 allroad.
The model will likely make its official debut at a major auto show next year, possibly in China. Hopefully the RS6 allroad won’t remain a China-only affair as we are sure it would do well in other countries.
