Because the Audi Ur Quattro is considered by many to be the best four-ringed car of all time, based on both its importance to the brand and just how awesome it is to drive, whenever one goes up for auction, we take notice. Not only is it an incredible car and one that any enthusiast would love to own but it’s also a rare car, with only a few thousand being brought to the US market. So this 1984 Audi Ur Quattro that’s now for sale on Bring-A-Trailer is very interesting.

This specific car isn’t entirely original but it looks mostly original, which is good considering the rarity and specialness of the car. It also hasn’t been modified under the skin much at all, with only minor tweaks being made to improve the car.

The 1984 Ur Quattro was bought back in 2013 but this current owner and was repainted from black to Amazon Blue Metallic and it’s a nice color that works well on the car. It also seems to have been a pretty good paint job, as there don’t seem to be any noticeable issues with the paint from the pictures. Inside, its brown leather was re-dyed to keep it looking fresh, the carpets were replaced and the steering wheel was was swapped for a Euro-style one.

Under the skin, the 2.1 liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine was rebuilt back in 2012, so it’s still quite fresh and the current owner has only put 6,000 miles. So it should be strong, despite the 161,000-ish miles on the odometer. Its suspension was replaced with Koni shocks and 2Bennet coilover springs, which should also allow it to handle better than before.
