Audi unveils limited edition A5 DTM selection with 3.0 TDI engine

Audi has prepared a limited-run A5 DTM selection that comes with a plethora of visual enhancements.

An all-new A5 Coupe has been confirmed for a 2016 release, but Audi is trying to prove the outgoing model still has some life in it which is why they decided to freshen up the premium coupe with a special edition that acts as a follow-up to the namesake editions of the A4 Sedan in 2005 and the A5 Coupe in 2013.

Only 50 of these beauties will ever be made and all of them will share a Misano Red exterior paint scheme along with a glossy black finish for the added body bits and pieces. It also has several DTM, quattro and Audi Sport logos along with five dual-spoke 20-inch alloys shod in 265/30 R20 tires. The interior has received bespoke door sill trims with the Audi Sport logo while the DTM logo is projected onto the road once you open up the door thanks to the entry lighting.

If the seats look familiar, that’s because Audi borrowed them from the RS5 and in this application come with a Misano Red hue on the backrest covers while the door and side trims adopt a similar finish. Other items worth mentioning include the tinted rear windows, an alloy pedal set and red stitching on the seats as well as on the flat-bottomed steering wheel which is wrapped around in leather and Alcantara.

The Audi A5 DTM selection comes exclusively with a 3.0 TDI 6-cylinder engine generating 245 PS and 580 Nm transferred to the quattro AWD setup via a 7-speed S tronic gearbox. Thanks to this hardware arrangement, the high-powered diesel A5 Coupe will cover the 0-100 km/h run in just 5.9 seconds and will continue to accelerate until the top speed limiter will kick in at 250 km/h.

It’s already available on order and in Germany it starts at €74,540, but you’d better hurry as Audi plans on making only 50 cars.
