Audi UK shows off third generation TT Roadster [VIDEO]

Audi’s UK division has released a short presentation clip for the third generation TT Roadster. Riding on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, the open-top TT weighs 1,320 kg (2,910 lbs) when equipped with the base 2.0 TFSI engine and a manual gearbox while at an additional cost it can be had with a six-speed S tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system. The base engine puts out 230 HP (169 kW) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) while in the TT S version it churns 310 HP (228 kW) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm).

For those who prioritize fuel consumption, the third generation TT Roadster can also be had with a more economical 2.0 TDI developing 184 HP (135 kW) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm). The S version is for those who want performance as the model needs just 4.9 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and will continue to accelerate until reaching an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h).

Prices at home in Germany kick off at €35,000 for the standard coupe, while the roadster is available from €37,900. Upgrade for the TT S Coupe and you have to pay €49,100 whereas the TT S Roadster will set you back €52,300.

Later during the car’s lifespan, a TT RS will join the range with a 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine sourced from the RS3 Sportback.
