The Audi TTS is being showcased in a new commercial entitled “leap of faith” which points out the vehicle was designed for those interested in a true driver’s car. The model being featured in the clip is the hotter S derivative which currently sits on top of the TT range until next year’s flagship RS variant. Coming from outer space with earth as its final destination, the TTS takes the leap of faith and is being described by its creators as a car created for those who are looking for the sheer joy of driving.
Looking significantly sharped than its predecessor, the 2015 Audi TTS is an all-new model as it rides on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform which has brought a significant weight loss. Despite being 20mm shorter, the wheelbase has been stretched by 37mm while the trunk size has grown by 13 liters to 305 liters.
Its heart and soul is a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 310 HP (228 kW) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) to a quattro all-wheel drive system through a standard six-speed manual or an optional S tronic transmission. With the latter, the Audi TTS sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in as little as 4.7 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
