The third generation Audi TT is scheduled to go on sale in India on April 23. The announcement was made recently by Audi India and they also revealed plans to launch a new product each month in the following five months, with the TT being the first model of the new product assault. It will be commercialized in India after being imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU) from the company’s factory in Hungary.
Upon launch it will be offered exclusively with a 2.0-liter TFSI engine developing 230 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. The model will be known as “TT 45TFSI” and will feature a six-speed DSG transmission sending the engine’s power to a quattro all-wheel drive system. Audi India has announced the beefier TT S will not be available, at least not initially.
A decision regarding the 2.0-liter TDI engine has not been taken yet but further down the line it could be offered in India if there will be enough demand for a more frugal variant of the third generation Audi TT.
