The third generation Audi TT is scheduled to go on sale in Australia in February from $71,950. For this money you will be getting the entry-level coupe variant equipped with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter TFSI generating 169 kW and a peak torque of 370 Nm. The engine can work with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional dual-clutch seven-speed S tronic automatic while a quattro all-wheel drive system is available at an additional cost.
Audi Australia will offer the new TT in Sport and S line trims and both come with the virtual cockpit as standard. Also standard equipment are MMI Navigation with MMI Touch, convenience key, Alcantara upholstery and electric front seats. Optional goodies include larger alloy wheels in sizes of up to 20 inches along with matrix LED headlights.
Full specs about the AU-spec Audi TT will be announced in February at the model’s local launch while around June or July the TT Roadster will be introduced. In the third quarter of the year the TT S variant will join the range with its 228 kW & 380 Nm output coming from a beefier 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
According to Audi Australia’s managing director Andrew Doyle, almost 250 people have already put down a deposit to purchase the new TT.
