Audi trailer assistant explained

The Audi trailer assistant offered for the second generation Q7 is being detailed in a new video released by Audi Deutschland. It is part of the optional “City” package which also contains cross-traffic assist as well as an exit warning system. The trailer assistant is capable of steering the trailer backwards in the direction indicated by the driver using the rotary pushbutton of the MMI system.

Moreover, the Audi trailer assistant can turn the steering wheel of the vehicle in the opposite direction and it can also automatically stabilize the trailer-tow vehicle unit whenever driving backwards in a straight line. Interestingly, when the steering wheel is turned too far, it will warn the driver if the trailer is in jeopardy of hitting the rear of the car.
