Audi has announced the next generation 2016 A4 Sedan and A4 Avant will be unveiled later this month at an event organized in Ingolstadt. Riding on the MLB Evo platform, the new premium compact sedan is expected to shave off as much as 100 kg compared to the outgoing model and it will adopt an evolutionary design with more angled headlights and taillights, sharper lines and a slightly longer wheelbase which will enable a more spacious interior cabin. It’s also getting full LED headlights and LED taillights along with a larger front grille and most likely a more spacious trunk as a result of the increased size.
Details about the engine lineup are scarce, but Audi has previously announced they have developed a new TFSI four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine which they say will be the most frugal motor in this segment. When installed in the 2016 A4 Sedan, it will allow the vehicle to consume less than five liters / 100 km while the power figures stand at a respectable 190 PS and 320 Nm.
If this isn’t enough, you will have to wait for the S4 likely coming out next year while the flagship RS4 will be introduced most likely in 2017 with a six-cylinder turbocharged engine replacing the current V8 4.2-liter naturally aspirated unit.
