Audi to launch a ton of new performance cars, three new ‘RS’ cars

This year is shaping up to be a big one for Audi. It’s only March, three months in, and already the four-ringed brand has shown off two new electric concept cars, the Q4 e-tron and e-tron Sportback while also teasing future models. So there are nine more months to go and, apparently, we can expect a lot from Audi in those months.

Not only is this the first year that the new Audi e-tron SUV will be on sale but we can expect up to 20 new or refreshed cars by the end of 2019. According to this new report from Car Buzz, the new A4 and Q7 facelifts are on their way this year, along with nine new ‘S’ models and three new ‘RS’ cars.

Audi RS Q3 Prototype

While we don’t know every car that Audi will be launching, we do know a few. Both the new Audi S6 and S7 should be on the their way soon and we can likely expect the new Audi S8 as well. There’s also the possibility of an Audi SQ8 and and SQ3. Adding to the latter, the upcoming RS Q3 could be one of the upcoming ‘RS’ models as well.

As far as the other two Audi Sport models that are said to debut, we could see the RS6 Avant (which is said to be coming to America!) and the all-new Audi RS7. The latter of which will be a big deal for Audi Sport as it will mark the first time ever it’s going to offer two powertrains for the same car. It could also make up to 700 hp thanks to a hybrid powertrain, another Audi Sport-first.

Audi e-tron Sportback prototype

All of this will be in addition to the production-ready, aforementioned Q4 e-tron that will debut in 2019. And while it won’t hit the road in 2019, we could see what the e-tron Sportback really is, as well as the e-tron GT. So it’s looking like this year will be a huge one for the four-ringed brand. Stay tuned.

I've been in love with cars since I was a kid, specifically German cars. Now I get to drive them talk about them on the internet.
