Audi has formed a partnership with Amazon and DHL for a new pilot project entitled “Audi connect easy delivery”. It will effectively begin in Munich, Germany next month and it’s basically an easy delivery service which will provide Amazon Prime customers with the possibility of choosing their Audi as the shipping address for an upcoming package ordered online.
After the order is placed online, the DHL Parcel is going to receive the GPS coordinates of the vehicle to allow their driver deliver the package and insert it into the Audi’s trunk. The DHL driver will have access to the car’s trunk through a temporary digital access code that will be available for use for a limited amount of time. Once the trunk of the car is closed, this digital access code will automatically expire.
The Audi connect easy delivery is currently being labeled as a pilot project, but the Ingolstadt-based automaker says their plan is to expand the service to include parcel and letter pickup.
