The 25th anniversary of the Audi Summer Concerts will be celebrated this year in Ingolstadt. Between June 30 and July 27, no less than 23 concerts will take place with several classical stars such as conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada, baritone Thomas Hampson and trumpeter Sergei Nakariakov. Aside from the traditional event sites like the Festsaal auditorium at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt and Schloss Leitheim, these will be joined this year by an Ingolstadt club location called Maki Club as well as by the Eventhalle am Westpark.
As for the big anniversary concert, it will be organized on July 19 in an Audi production hall which will be temporarily transformed into a concert hall. The company’s Neckarsulm site will also be part of the festivities as on July 10 it will host the concert “The Seasons” by Joseph Haydn. The Audi Summer Concerts will also feature American star conductor Kent Nagano in collaboration with the Audi Young Persons’ Choral Academy, a young choir singing Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 under his direction.
The festival will open on June 30 with a special concert featuring Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan and the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra under the direction of Donato Cabrera at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt’s Festsaal auditorium.
Advance ticket sales will kick off on February 2 at 10 AM and prices range between €10 and €85. 50 percent discounts are applicable to pupils, students, vocational trainees and disabled persons (and their accompanying person).
