Audi SQ5 TDI plus announced with 340 hp and 700 Nm

The Audi SQ5 TDI plus is making a surprise online debut today, adding even more diesel power to the mid-size crossover. It’s even stronger than the Spain-exclusive SQ5 Competition which has 326 hp as this new “plus” edition is offering no less than 340 hp and a torquetastic 700 Nm coming from the same 3.0-liter biturbo diesel engine. The additional oomph was possible by increasing the injection pressure and according to the company from Ingolstadt its high-powered diesel consumes only 6.6 liters / 100 km and emits 174 g/km of CO2.

All that power is channeled to a quattro all-wheel drive system and enables the SQ5 TDI plus run the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.1 seconds before it tops out at 250 km/h (electronically limited). For the first time on a Q5 model, there’s a sport differential in the back to distribute power to the wheels as necessary and Audi has also expanded the glossy black visual kit which now also includes the mirrors, diffuser, door handles and the roof-mounted spoiler in the back.

It sits on Audi Sport 21-inch alloy wheels that have a glossy black look and have been teamed up with 255/40 R21 tires. Inside, there’s a sliding rear bench to enhance the cabin’s practicality while the door armrests have received the leather treatment. As for the seats, these come with a Nappa upholstery finished with a silver diamond pattern for the stitching.

You’ll have to pay €67,700 in Germany to buy this car and at an additional €12,000 you can specify it with an optional Audi exclusive selection macaw blue limited to 100 examples. This kit brings a macaw blue paint, black fine Nappa leather upholstery with macaw blue stitching, along with the same hue applied on the stitching for the selector lever gaiter, steering wheel and also on the floor mats.
