The inaugural season of the Audi Sport TT Cup will kick off in exactly 100 days from now. It’s a one-make cup which has entered in the final stage of preparations ahead of a start scheduled as part of the DTM season opener at Hockenheimring. Audi says the selection process for all the 18 permanent slots has almost been completed after receiving no less than 165 applications from 30 countries.
18 junior drivers will receive a permanent slot in the competition while from March 2 to 5 there’s going to be a fitness camp held in Bavaria to establish eh physical foundations of the upcoming season while shortly after that a trip to Spain will be organized. The initial track testing will be held at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona to get ready for the 2015 season.
Audi is currently putting the finishing touches on the TT racecar which has an unrestricted 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TFSI engine generating an impressive 310 HP (228 kW) and in excess of 400 Nm of torque all wrapped around in a body weighing just 1,125 kg. Power is channeled to the wheels through a six-speed S tronic transmission while the race-spec alloy wheels are wrapped around in Hankook tires.
