Audi has released images with an Imola Yellow R8 V10 Plus developed through the firm’s Exclusive individualization program. After all these years, Ingolstadt’s flagship supercar still looks fresh but the R8 is at the end of its lifecycle as a second generation will be introduced next year. Seen here is the outgoing R8 in the coupe-only V10 Plus guise which was revealed towards the end of July 2012 for the 2013MY.
What sets this model apart is the standard front splitter made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), a material also used on the side mirrors housings, side blades and the lateral air inlets of the coupe. It also gets standard LEDs illuminating in the engine compartment where there’s also partial CFRP lining. A CFRP rear diffuser comes as standard and an exclusive matte effect body paint.
Without any doubt, the most feature of this Imola Yellow R8 V10 Plus is the uprated engine, a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter engine delivering 550 HP (404 kW) and 540 Nm of torque whereas the R8 V10 has “only” 525 HP (386 kW) and 530 Nm. The R8 V10 Plus sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 197 mph (317 km/h), making it 0.1s quicker in the sprint and with a 3 mph (4 km/h) higher maximum speed.
