Christmas is only a few days away so the Audi Deutschland official page selected this R8 V10 Spyder as reindeer. The model is on its way to a well-deserved retirement but it still has what it takes to help Santa deliver this year’s presents. Its heart and soul is the familiar V10 5.2-liter FSI naturally aspirated engine outputting 525 HP (386 kW) and a peak torque of 530 Nm (390.91 lb-ft).
Thanks to this powerful engine, the Audi R8 V10 Spyder will need only 3.8 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint while the top speed stands at 193 mph (311 km/h). All that power is transferred to both axles as the high-performance benefits from a quattro all-wheel drive system receiving the power through an S tronic gearbox.
It’s far from being cheap as at home in Germany it carries a starting price of no less than €168,400, making it a lot more expensive than its lesser V8 4.2 FSI version which costs €128,400 with the six-speed manual and €133,300 with the S tronic.
Audi has already confirmed the second generation R8 will be out sometime in 2015 and it will continue with these two engines while in a few years a smaller turbocharged engine will join the range.
