Audi says SUVs could account for half of their sales in 10 years

Audi has revealed an interesting prediction which refers to the company’s SUVs in the next 5 to 10 years. Based on their estimations, deliveries of Q-badged models will account for as much as 50% in the next 5-10 years, following an expansion of the SUV and crossover offerings to join the current Q3, Q5 and Q7 models. The first one to be added will be the Q1 set to go on sale sometime next year while in 2017 the company will introduce the range-topping Q8. There’s also an all-electric Q6 in the works programmed to go on sale most likely in 2017.

Moreover, Audi’s SUVs could be joined by a smaller model sitting below the Q1 which will reportedly get the Q Junior moniker. If green-lighted for production, the smallest Q-badged crossover from Audi will be based on the next generation A1 and should hit the market around 2019 or so.
