Audi says Q8 will be launched in 2019

Audi has disclosed plans to launch the Q8 flagship SUV sometime in 2019. Sitting above the second generation Q7, Audi’s first ever Q8 will take the shape as a sportier Q7 with a more sloped roofline similar to what coupes have. It will be a direct rival to BMW’s X6 and will feature a body design influenced by last year’s Prologue concept. We heard the company’s R&D chief Ulrich Hackenberg saying it will be sportier and more emotional than the Q7.

Audi has also reiterated its plans to launch the Q1 baby crossover next year and they also plan to roll out a “sporty SUV with electric drive in the upper mid segment” due in 2018 and the model they are referring to is probably the Q6. Based on what we know so far, Audi’s pure electric Q model will feature a 100 kWh battery that will provide enough juice for a range of more than 310 miles (500 km).
