The Audi S8 Plus will carry a starting price of $114,900 in the U.S. once it will go on sale next month. Ingolstadt’s ultimate full-size sedan is set to receive its North American premiere in a couple of weeks at the Los Angeles Auto Show after being released in European guise back in September in Frankfurt and can be considered as the next best thing to a fully-fledged RS8 which Audi has already said won’t happen, at least not in this generation.
Under the hood it uses an evolution of the 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine pushing out a massive 605 bhp and 516 lb-ft of torque which makes it 85 bhp and 73 lb-ft more powerful in comparison to the regular S8. As a result of the added punch, the Audi S8 Plus can run the 0-60 mph spring in just 3.7 seconds and top out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h), but there’s an optional Dynamic Package which will bump the limiter to an impressive 190 mph (305 km/h) and will add a sports exhaust system, carbon fiber rear spoiler and ceramic brakes.
Aside from packing a lot more punch, the Audi S8 Plus comes with a plethora of other upgrades, such as a torque vectoring rear differential, a dynamic steering system, adaptive sport air suspension and 21-inch bespoke alloys featuring a titanium finish. It can also be visually distinguished by its body-colored rear spoiler and silver side mirror caps while an optional Black Optic Package encompasses carbon fiber mirror caps, black singleframe grille, tinted taillights and a carbon fiber rear diffuser.
