The recently facelifted Audi S8 is far from being slow in its standard configuration but the engineers from ABT Sportsline thought there is room for improvement and created an upgrade kit. Their main task was to increase output of the V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine and so they did as ABT squeezed an additional 120 bhp and 130 Nm for a grand total of 640 bhp and 780 Nm.
ABT did not say how much the performance numbers have been improved but they did reveal the fact that the maximum speed has been increased to around 174 mph (280 km/h).
Aside from infusing more power, the tuner developed an electronic lowering module that can lower the Audi S8’s ride height by around 25mm. Moreover, ABT Sportsline can install a quad exhaust system along with a wide array of alloy wheels measuring 20 and 21 inches.
As a reminder, the facelifted Audi A8/S8 lineup went on sale back in November and at home in Germany it carries a starting price of 74,500 euros. One of the highlights is represented by the adoption of matrix LED headlights (an optional feature) and a 13 cm increase in overall length for the long-wheelbase variant. In addition, the trunk’s capacity has increased to 18.36 cubic feet (520 liters).
