SPIED: 2020 Audi S3 Sportback and Sedan Seen Without Camo

The upcoming Audi S3 is one of our most hotly anticipated cars, as it brings great new styling, a fantastic new interior and an upgraded chassis, brought by the standard Audi A3. However, for S3-duty, it gets a 310 horsepower from its 2.0 liter turbocharged four-pot, making it the more exciting model. Previously, we’ve only see the upcoming S3 in spy photos wearing heavy camouflage but there are now new photos of both the S3 Sportback and S3 Sedan completely uncovered. (We don’t own the spy photos but you can see them here)

These photos were taken at the Nurburgring, showing off both cars doing some undisguised laps. I guess Audi realized that we all already knew what the S3 was going to look like anyway, so it didn’t bother to cover the car up. Plus, the official reveal is on its way.

Camouflaged Audi S3 Sportback

In these photos, the Audi S3 looks really good. I’m actually surprised with how good the S3 Sedan looks, as it’s usually the worse looking car of the two. Now, it seems to be right on par with the Sportback model. In fact, the plain black paint color of the S3 Sportback in these photos does the car no favors, so it actually seems a bit bland. The stunning blue paintwork on the S3 Sedan really makes its aggressive lines pop and it seems like a sportier car.

When the Audi S3 debuts, it should be faster than the current car, despite similar power, thanks to its lighter curb weight. However, the real improvement should be to its handling, as the current S3 is a bit soft, a bit uninspired to drive. Hopefully, this new car brings some much-needed agility to a segment that has some surprisingly fun little cars.
