The Audi S3 Sedan is now available on order in Australia with a manual six-speed gearbox. This decision was taken as a result of a high demand from potential customers who prefer a manual rather than the dual-clutch six-speed S tronic transmission. It should be mentioned that while the 2014MY model offered 206 kW from its 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, the new model year has brought an increase to 210 kW while torque has remained the same at 380 Nm.
Weight of the automatic Audi S3 Sedan stands at 1,535 kg whereas the manual model tips the scales at 1,505 kg. However, the manual hot sedan is 0.4s slower in the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint than the S tronic model so it will need 5.4 seconds to complete the run. Moreover, it’s also a little bit thirstier as it consumes 7 liters / 100 km while the S tronic version needs 6.9 liters / 100 km.
The Audi S3 Sedan is actually the most popular model of the A3 family as 38% of the customers select the high-powered sedan which comes as standard with a quattro all-wheel drive system. Deliveries of the 2015MY will kick off in the coming weeks, with prices starting at $63,400 (plus on-road costs).
