Audi S3 Cabrio & A3 Cabrio 184 PS TDI quattro on sale in UK

Good news for those of you living in UK who are interested in buying either the Audi S3 Cabrio or the A3 Cabrio 184 PS TDI quattro as the models are now on sale. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show back in March, the S3 Cabriolet adopts a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine developing 300 PS (221 kW) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft). It works with a 6-speed S tronic gearbox and an AWD quattro system.

The Audi S3 Cabrio needs only 5.4 seconds to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint and it will keep on going until it hits an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The hot soft top convertible manages to remain quite frugal as it has a fuel consumption of 7.1 liters / 100 km with corresponding CO2 emissions of 165 g/km.

Compared to the regular A3 Cabrio, the more potent S version gets 18-inch alloy wheels, a quad exhaust system, trunk-mounted spoiler, along with honeycomb mesh grille inserts and faux mirror caps. Customers are also rewarded with a different front grille, a platinum-gray rear diffuser as well as some interior tweaks like a sport steering wheel, sport seats and stainless steel pedals. There’s also a different instrument cluster, metallic accents and a brushed matte aluminum trim.

Deliveries of the Audi S3 Cabrio will kick off in September, with prices starting at £38,910 OTR.

Moving onto the Audi A3 Cabrio 184 PS TDI quattro, this one as it name says packs a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TDI with 184 PS (135 kW) transferred to a quattro all-wheel drive system (only on Sport and S line trims) through a six-speed S tronic gearbox. The FWD variant of this model has a six-speed manual transmission.

The AWD version does 0-62 mph in 7.6 seconds and tops out at 147 mph (236 km/h) while having a fuel consumption of 5 liters / 100 km with 132 g/km of CO2 emissions. Prices for the Audi A3 Cabrio 184 PS TDI quattro start at £32,000 OTR (Sport) and £32,000 OTR (S line).
