The Audi RS7 Sportback is starring in a new promotional video where it goes up against the elevators inside the Burj Khalifa building.
The clip was released by Audi Middle East and shows the high-performance Sportback taking part in a so-called “Elevation Challenge” where it races the building’s elevators that cover 10 meters per second (36 km/h or 22 mph). Behind the wheel of the RS7 is Audi Sport driver Edoardo Mortara while his challenger is Musa Khalfan Yasin who is the quickest 100-meter sprinter in UAE. Unsurprisingly, the race ends with a tie as the RS7 “somehow” gets stalled by a goat.
This is the type of video you usually see in a Top Gear episode where a man races a machine to find out which of the two is the fastest in a given environment. Needless to say, in real life the car would take the win as its blazing fast thanks to its twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine with 552 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. It’s enough muscle for a 0-100 km/h run in just 3.9 seconds and a 155 mph (250 km/h) top speed which is actually electronically limited.
As for the Burj Khalifa building, it’s around 828 meters tall and has no less than 57 elevators, with the video claiming the building has the quickest elevators in the entire world.
